Take a moment and think back to when you last felt troubled or in despair. Chances are you were either dwelling on past experiences or fretting about what your future has in store for you or a loved one.
Our energy and vitality are leeched from the present as we find ourselves distracted and troubled by things that have either come to pass or have yet to come but over which we have little or no control. This can become a vicious cycle, cruelly reinforcing our feelings of despair and helplessness.

The 8-week MBSR course provides a participatory learning experience with the practice of a variety of Mindfulness Meditation Techniques
The 8 week MBCT course integrates Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
The day retreat is for people who have completed the 8-week MBSR course, have attended a workshop or already have some mindfulness experience.
The 8-week MBSR course provides a participatory learning experience with the practice of a variety of Mindfulness Meditation Techniques including:
The MBSR course has gone from strength to strength, with critical acclaim and support from the international medical community. Here within the UK, the Mental Health Foundation has lent its support and endorsed the course.
The course is taught over eight 2 hour sessions at weekly intervals including an additional all day session.
All our courses at the MINDFULNESS TODAY Centre take place in very small groups.

Kindfulness Talking Therapy is an opportunity to be listened to, make sense of things and find ways forward.
It will help you to recognise your current thoughts, emotions and feelings and accept them mindfully. The aim is to help you work out how to deal with negative thoughts and make positive changes with kindness whilst accepting the truth and being in the moment with different mindful and relaxation techniques.
The word kindfulness reminds to be forgiving all and have a friendly, compassionate feelings before you start the talking therapy, during the therapy and just before you end the therapy..

The retreat is for people who have completed the 8 week MBSR course, have attended a workshop or already have some mindfulness experience. New participants are also welcome.
A retreat is an opportunity to reduce our distractions and focus on deepening our experience of a particular practice. You will be guided through the four foundations of mindfulness in a silent and supportive environment and have the opportunity to really experience the peacefulness that mindfulness can bring.
Please wear loose clothes so that you will be comfortable to sit, lie down and perform simple yoga and qi-gong exercises. Please be ready by 09.45AM as the retreat will begin at 10 am.
We encourage you to observe silence through out the day and the retreat will finish around 3 pm. Then you will be able to speak about your experience of the day and ask questions if you wish.
Please make sure to have your meditation cushion / chair, Yoga mats, blankets and a water bottle ready by your side.

The Advanced Mindfulness Course is for those who have completed the 8-week MBSR or MBCT course. This course is suitable for those who are looking to deepen their Mindfulness Practice.
Learning from 6 week Advanced Mindfulness course can include;
The Advanced Mindfulness course meets once a week for 6 weeks and class time is
2 hours per week. Any necessary class materials or handouts will be provided, and outside readings may be recommended.

Master class and practice group The aim of this Master class and practice group is to provide support for people who have completed the 8 week MBSR /MBCT courses to maintain their practice. We try to organise this two-hour session on the first Friday of each month. There will be a theme, we are mastering on each month. Some of the well received topics are;

-> The four Foundations of Mindfulness as taught by Buddha
-> Mindfulness of Breathing
-> Loving-Kindness and Compassion practice
-> Mindfulness at Workplace
The first hour of the session is dedicated to sitting practice/ Body Scan practice/ mindful movement and longer sitting practice. The last 45 minutes is focused on the mastering a theme, discussion and the loving kindness meditation.

This taster session is a unique opportunity for participants to learn both traditional Buddhist Mindfulness as well as modern mindful approaches (MBSR and MBCT) as taught and designed by Jon Kabat-Zinn.
You will have the opportunity to learn about the history of Mindfulness as taught by Buddha 2,600 years ago and learn more about the 8-week MBSR course and the 8-week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course for depression.
During the taster session, we will explore several different mindfulness techniques including:
These techniques can help with managing stress, anxiety, negative thoughts and difficult moments in your everyday life.
